Drawn cup needle roller bearing

Drawn cup needle roller bearings are needle roller bearings with thin-walled stamped outer rings. They are typically used in applications where the bearing housing holes cannot be used as raceways for needle roller and cage assemblies, and where high load capacity and very compact and economical bearing configurations are required. The bearing is installed in the bearing housing by means of an interference fit. This type of bearing does not require a shoulder or a retaining ring to axially position the bearing, which makes the design of the bearing housing hole simple and economical.

Thrust needle roller bearings can reliably fix and guide a large number of needle rollers through cages of specific structural shapes. It can provide very high stiffness within an extremely small axial space. In applications where the surfaces of adjacent machine components can be used as raceways, thrust needle roller bearings occupy less space than traditional thrust washers, or by using the thrust washers that come with thrust bearings, the configuration requirements for adjacent mating parts of the bearings can also be reduced.
